As you might’ve guessed from the video above, we’re sitting on some pretty exciting news here at Zaius. Next Tuesday, we’re launching Marketing Unboxed, a brand new video series that pulls back the curtain on how today’s top ecommerce brands are marketing to their customers.
We know no B2C brand is alike, and that is especially true when it comes to marketing. Which got us thinking: are there certain things successful ecommerce brands do well? And where do marketing efforts often fall short?
For instance, do most brands have a cart abandonment strategy in place? Does their post-purchase email nurturing flow successfully upsell their buyers? And just how much of the marketing messaging focuses on turning one-time customers into repeat buyers? That’s exactly what we’re about to find out.
The gist of it
Here’s how it works: For each episode of Marketing Unboxed, we’ll be buying, unboxing, and analyzing an ecommerce brand, whether it’s a clothing retailer, a sports equipment outfitter, or a specialty kitchenware store.
But this is more than a chance to “oooh” and “ahhhh” at some shiny new products. As marketers, what we’re really interested in is whether their marketing strategy makes us sit up and pay attention. So we’ll be taking you on a tour through each step of our journey as first-time customers. From the very first ad to the welcome email series, we’ll cover it all and see what works, what doesn’t, and what we wish we had thought of!
