It seems impossible, but Sticker Mule has pulled it off.  Known as “the internet’s favorite custom printer”, the brand is incredibly popular with both businesses and individuals for their easy customization and fast turnaround on products.

But how sticky is their marketing strategy? To find out, we stocked up on custom Marketing Unboxed stickers and went through the entire customer journey step by step. And we learned exactly why Sticker Mule is so beloved by their customers.

💡Product Customization

Whether you’re buying logo stickers for your business, or a funny joke sticker of your friend’s face, the Sticker Mule design and customization process super smooth. All you have to do is pick a style, size, number of stickers, and upload your design. Then place your order. And if you get stuck at all, Sticker Mule’s customer’s support chat is just a click away.

This order confirmation page is especially great since it encourages buyers to engage post-purchase. The entire product customization flow is a clear example of great site design combined with a fantastic customer experience.

📧 Plain Text Emails

Sticker Mule has a serious commitment to simple, plain text emails. We found this email look refreshing compared to the design-heavy emails most brands send. But it may not be to everyone’s taste.

And unfortunately, we noticed a bit of an embarrassing mistake in the first name personalization of the emails. Sticker Mule clearly used an address to personalize their emails as Attn: Cara, which shows their customer data is not as robust as it should be.

🎁 Free Product Samples

In a smart move, the brand also included a few samples of other Sticker Mule products for free along with our order. It just makes sense that if you bought a die-cut sticker, you might be interested in a different sticker format, or perhaps a coaster or another product.

It’s a small touch, but it’s nice to include to hopefully drive a repeat purchase. And while the rest of the brand’s packaging is simple, it is on brand and has some fun copy.

📦 Wrapping It Up

Sticker Mule seems like they have their customer experience down to a science — even for complicated custom orders. While they did make a silly email mistake, we’re willing to forgive them because the rest of their marketing was so clear-cut.
